David Long, the CB, is a person who isn't scared at corner; and this is half the battle---in that he has talent in spades!
However, Long has 3rd round talent when it comes to sticking to WRs, but 1st round moxy and attitude....see the 2018 game against Ohio state game; he had huge lapses....WRs got separtion 3-4. THen the other 90% they had zero....so, that is a 'win' in the Rams defense. Don't forget Talib and Peters look the same most of the time...neither can stick on the WR all game long.
He will get burned a lot if he plays outside as a rookie, but with he Rams pass rush, and with us having the lead, he will be a in a better postion to succeed....and he won't have to play tight coverage all the time,
because if he does, he will last as long as Robert Massey did (1989 Saints corner who bailed after the Flipper game).I am very, very, very happy Rams got David Long......he fits the system and attitude the Rams have.
Gaines is a huge win also.
Oh and
Evans and Edwards are perfect fits for the Rams scheme, and will start in the NFL in 2020 or 2021.
