I wonder if they really will go into September with these three as their top OL backups. Maybe they can. Just saying it is risky to have zero experience in your top 3 OL backups. They got away with it in 2018 but that is not to say they should not still try to find a veteran OL to add to the mix.
Not dismissing the picks of Evans and Edwards at all. I especially like Edwards potential.
Kromer, like all OL coaches, has a big say in drafting linemen. Since he first became an OL coach the teams Kromer coached for have drafted 12 linemen, and hit on 9 of them. Actually in his last 2 stops--Chicago and Buffalo--he was 4 for 4. So that's 75% career, 100% in the 4 years before he became a Rams coach.
I did the numbers on Hanifan going back to 1990. With Hanifan the draft hit percentage was just under 29%. With Boudreau going back to 2006, it was just under 39%.
I predict that at least 4 of Kromer's 5 Rams OL picks become hits (Noteboom, Allen, Demby, Evans, Edwards). Hitting on all 5 would not surprise me. The record says it will be AT LEAST 3, though I think it will be at least 4.
