it wasn't a decline per se

I'd see him holding or looking at his knee or ankle but I never really saw him struggle or hobble while running. I'm guessing there were cuts or moves he simply could not make that WOULD show evidence of pain. It all seems so strange.

TWICE last year the knee gave him trouble.

Once was in game 1. If you look at the stats for game 2, whatever it was lingered. Gurley said it was "bad." McVay said the Sept. incident was like the December incident. He directly said they were "similar situations."

Then there was the incident in December where they sat him.

Both times he was productive after rest (or, rest and injections).

This looks like something that can flare up, not like some nagging every game thing.

But whatever it is, no one ever said the underlying cause went away.

So is that a "decline"? Or is it something that can flare up and affect his play?

Never could totally figure Gurley's decline. It just did not show.
