Those were the ones I have heard.

The lack of a passion for football is because he wants to be a well rounded person, which is fine, except when teams want a guy that eats, sleeps and breathes football.

— Kirk Herbstreit, ultimate ABC/ESPN Insider, Saturday said Notre Dame senior DT Jerry Tillery “has not been known as being the best teammate, to put it frankly.” But if he wanted to put it frankly, he’d have said a little something as to why.

I have no idea what that means, but it has stuck with me forever. I can't shake it.

At the end of his freshman season, he kicked a downed USC player in the head, then stepped on a USC players arm in 2 seperate instances. After the game, he was ripped by teammates in the media.

At the end of his Soph. season, he was suspended from their bowl game for violating team rules.

And at the end of his soph. season HC Brian Kelly required him to undergo anger management classes and do community service before he could rejoin the team for 2017.

To his credit, I haven't heard anything since and he is saying all the right things. He also lifted and ran and competed at the combine because he wanted to, and then right after got surgery on his shoulder. He could have shut it down, got surgery and missed the combine.

You’re right. I had read about some of those red flags. I’ve also read that all of those things he cleaned up and basically demonstrated growth in maturity over this last season.

I will say this, if he lacks passion for football he will not be a Rams. The number one criteria I hear McVay and Snead mention that they look for are players that are passionate for football.
