he sat behind Mo for 5-7 games iirc...then, they started the kid.
Kiser has been behind Barron - a long time starter for the Rams.
I can really see Kiser next to Littleton...and think they would compliment each other well.
Also, when thinking about the OL and Boom & Allen and how they handled those guys last year. The Rams had the luxury to bring them along slowly and get them ready to play this year if things went south with Sully and Saffold...or Whitt. Whit coming back buys another year for us...maybe the use Demby as the back-up at LG this year or draft an new OT to play LT or LG...wherever 'Boom doesn't start. I see Blythe staying put at RG next to Hav.
It's the left side of the OL that the Rams gave reps to Boom & Allen - next to each other so they could get a good jump on chemistry together in case it fell that way this year...as it looks like it will - just the way the Rams thot it would.
So, the new OC & LG are very familiar with each other and are now ready to play together.
btw - Allen is a OC only. imo Allen's size really is too small for OG...but at OC? he can get away with it....at least, that's the plan!!!But...back to Kiser and his redshirt season...I don't think we should read too much into him sitting. I really feel the Rams wanna brought him along slowly to see him out there next to Littleton...who, himself, played STs and never started at ILB...but then,
proceeded to lead the team in tackles while facing them big OGs. It worked out okay and I think the same with
JFM, OBO, Joseph-Day, Trayvon Young, etc....even Demby who they brought back.
Heck the Rams might even sign
Ryan Groy and
Evan Boehm - that OG- a player like Blythe that they liked cuz of his fit for a RZ scheme.
