Thanks, 43
completely understand the defense heavy strategy prior to free agency.
and, yeah, free agency to fill those spots you pointed, too, will make BPA the wiser mode
tbh, a good chunk of guys need to come from veteran FA, and UDFA for the defense.
the naysayer in me says........
there's a day one starter from the interior linemen in this draft
whether we choose to use a high draft pick is still high drama for me.
will know by the middle of next week.

Nice reply, leaf.
About the draft D vs O players. Who knows? It all depends on how the Rams handle FA, both incoming and outgoing.
Conceivably, they could address 3 or even more starting positions with some shrewd Snead moves on D via trade or FA. That’s if everything breaks right and players give the
Rams a break because they want to be here. Not terribly likely, but it COULD happen to a degree.
If so, then the draft could go strictly BPA and be more balanced between O and D.
But as of today the needs on D are both many and fairly critical whereas the O looks relatively sound other than depth here and there.
Here are the D needs that absolutely, positively MUST be filled with quality starters, IMO.
Edge. Two of them.
DL. Suh’s replacement.
ILB. Barron’s replacement.
FS. Joyner’s replacement.
That’s 5 players, minimum. Or 4 plus Fowler, possibly. A tall order, but a necessary one.
The O seems to need a Saffold and Sully decision as starters, then it’s about the depth. Piece of cake, relatively speaking.
Gonna be an interesting 2 months coming up, that’s for sure.
