The comp pick formula rule #1 is teams only get compensated if they lose more players than they sign. I am assuming all 5 players signed in this situation were UFAs. Suh, Saffold and Fowler are worth 3s or 4s. Joyner a 4 or 5. All of these picks disappear in this senario. With Rams resigning Wilson, Westbrooks, Anderson and Shields, the only other UFAs are Longacre, Easley and Mannion. If Longacre signs somewhere we would have gained five UFAs and lost five. I doubt Easley is signed anywhere with his injury history. Let's say someone takes a flyer on Mannion. In this best case scenario, the Rams recoup one third round pick. I do not think the Rams would want to do that. The rams would be trading Brockers and a third for Sheldon and Shelton and about 5 millon cap space. I can see the Saffold Paradis exchange but Paradis will get more than 7.5 a year. There will not be a home town discount to sign him so that offer won't bring him in. He will sign in the first three days for more.
One way the Rams can get around some of these issues is if they can get Nsekhe and Miller AFTER the compensation period ends. Then they only have three UFAs signed and would get one or two comp picks back.
