While I appreciate his well thought out analysis , he lost me with using a 3 to take Tyree Jackson. (while he may be drafted, it won't be anywhere that early, imo),
I would make a strong effort to extend Saffold. I mean, a STRONG effort.
Fowler is gonna get nowhere near the $14M suggested. C’mon...
Second round tender should secure Littleton.
Easley is toast. Don’t want him at any price. Can’t stay healthy.
I’d rather have Malcolm Brown than CJ. I’m serious.
I’d hang onto Morgan Fox, somehow. He might have a future with the Rams and I wouldn’t risk losing him until we determine just how he fits.
Right on 43
Agree on not using a high pick for QB.
Agree about Saffold
Agree about Easley
Agree about Brown. Mostly due to his catch passing ability, and his fitness. CJ is a load, so smart, also good on the blitz. But the dollars just don't seem right.
Agree about Dante. It's a numbers game, and the value has to match. 14 M is heavy. TBH I suspect the Rams will pay more than I would, but not that much
Agree about Fox. I suspect either one or both of Westbrooks, and Longacre may be off the roster. Fox gives us a developmental.
The backup QB.
Gosh Mannion never looked good. He's got....meh. I'd prefer to see a kid who can run some. Guys like Nick Foles are mostly exceptions. With few reps, and coming on cold, it rarely seems that the pocket guys are successful in brief stints. Commented on elsewhere was Ryan Fitzpatrick. I like him, but he's got on the field everywhere he's been. Like he's a bad coin.
This will be interesting. Do they draft or do they sign? I think I'll be happy either way. Mannion just ......just.........doh......Maybe he'll be a good coach.
As for Jake B and the draft?
8 or 10 selections are for the defense. I don't think we'll end up having that many, nor that unbalanced between the two sides of the ball.
I won't be surprised to see the Rams only draft 5-6
I believe that we'll see 3 of those selections get on the field in 2019. If one is an OL; It would be as starter. That's a higher pick.
The cost to trade back up into the second or even earlier into the 3rd would whittle down the draft bank.
As we've seen the Rams tend to like 4 year guys; tend to like guys they interviewed.
I'd keep an eye on that
