Re: Defense has me rethinking the draft/free agency priorities

Based on our Top 10 defense---as viewed in the playoffs, here is what I might do:

Draft an O lineman #1;
Draft a TE in the 3rd to replace, in 2020/21 our move-blocking MVP TE Higbee (really without Higs we are dead)
Draft a SS in the 3rd, too.

a) Maybe we stay one more year with semi-basket case Peters
b) Talib and Roby C are good enough
c) FS- move JJ and sign a tough, smart SS (or sign Earl to man FS)
d) Go all in on some edge guy in free agency
e) either Brockers or Suh has to stay (Brockers for one more year)
f) Rams are good enough as a team that they can 'afford' to stick with Kiser at ILB. Keep Littleton as our
run and chase ILB. Let Barron go----and his 9 mill
g) Sign Fowler to a 1 year nice, prove it deal....a bit more than he is worth, but we can
let him go after 2019. Fowler is not high character, and not a hard worker and a not a....but,
in the big games he is good, cheap help...or so, I say.

What say ye?

I do believe we might not have won the #2 seed if we don't sign Fowler, or gone to the bowl. He did just enough
in the KC, Seattle games to help us take pressure off of other players, and he was huge in NFCC game. We need someone on the other side.

I'm not sure yet about your overall plan but one aspect of it I've been giving a lot of though to. And that is item d, going all in on some edge guy in free agency.

They have Clowney and Dee Ford as free agents. It might be worth taking a shot.

I don't think we can afford all the stuff you want though. To get a big time edge player, they would probably have to let Fowler go and probably both of Suh and Brockers.
