First of all.. I don't discount the possibility, (likelihood), of Gurley suffering some lingering physical problems.
That said:
I haven't seen much in his play that to me can't be possibly explained by getting hurt somewhat late in the season, taking time off, and not being up to par because of the 'time off'. Actually.. he looked pretty darn good to me in the last game.
Also possible, as for the 'inside' runs... maybe he never was as good as CJ in that way.
Basically I'm just not that worried about Gurley. In this SB Gurley is WAY down my list of worries. - JamesJM
Inside runs?
According to Football Outsiders, the Rams rank 1st in the league on inside runs for the season. They could not rank first if it were all CJ--he only has 43 regular season attempts to TG's 256. They could only be ranked 1st if TG was good at that too.
Which fits what we saw IMO. TG has a great burst to the middle. Or he does when he's healthy.
Anyway yeah I'm not worried about TG. If he's good to go physically then he's a top asset.
