and we'll get a good players at #31...or even if we trade down out of the 1st for more picks...they'll be DL players til the 4th round...that are very good.
I'm very doubtful there's a DT as bullish as Suh in this draft.
I think we have the best chance to be a dominant D if we keep Fowler and Suh with Brockers .
Barron is probably expendable as is Joyner .
Peters is overrated and Talib may lose a step next year .
Corner and SS .
I'd go Landon Collins in FA if we have the $.
That would be huge .
Saffold ..
Darn strait we need him
I suspect you're right that no DT would be as good as Suh in their rookie season. However, we weren't a dominant D this year with Fowler, Suh and Brockers so I don't see why they would be one next year if they maintained the status quo.
In addition, while a rookie DL would probably be a step down, $25M combined for Suh and Brockers is a lot of money for essentially average performance. That has to be kept in mind.
I strongly agree that CB fairly early in the draft would be a wise move.
I have an out of the box thought: instead of retaining the average production of Suh and Brockers, why not send them packing along with Barron and Joyner, let Fowler walk too and use the freed up dollars to get an impact edge free agent that's a step up from Fowler? Like a Clowney.
I originally proposed several weeks ago spending money at SS too, but the more I think about it, the more I question the wisdom of such a move for several reasons. Money is usually better spent on the front seven, Snead has a knack for getting good safeties without the expense, and if they do want to spend some money there will probably be good safeties who are cut that are much cheaper such as Rodney McLeod.
