My ongoing battle with my neighbor (Saints fan) on this subject just gets worse each day. Tonight I was over asking about his wife who is seriously ill and the game came up. He says: " I hate the cheating patriots and the @#$%& Bellichick BUT I hope they beat the crap out of the Rams ! So I say what did the Rams do ? Were they supposed to tell the refs it was a bad no call and let NO have the ball on the one ? Is that what the Saints would have done? He just answers " The Patriots will kick the crap out of the Rams-deservedly so."
This is not going to get any better-so I guess the adult in me should stop yelling "who dat-we dat" across the street.
You've already killed your neighbor through reasoning. I had a similar conversation with a Saint fan who was bitter about that play and he refused to respond to reasonable questions when I asked him. He just didn't acknowledge the questions I was asking.
I would actually like to debate an angry Saints fan because I think fanatical thinking is rife with flaws. It'd be like shooting fish in a barrel.
I got news for you my friend.
Both sides of this are examples of fanatical thinking.
Oh I know, each side is doing the "I am just right why would you even argue" thing.
And it would be funny if just for a minute we could use magic to reverse the situation and have Rams fans angry at a PI non-call that happened in the same kind of situation. Most would still call the other side "fanatical thinking."
