Yeah I agree with you. That call has tainted our victory. Even if the Rams win the SB, some people will use that game to taint that win.
You see it to this day how people call the Pats cheaters for this and that etc. That cheating has tainted their greatness, but it can't erase a fabulous dynasty built by Belichek and Brady et. al.
At work, the football intense guys bust my chops about it, but when we talk a bit more seriously about it, they all smile and agree that it was an earned win. They know that there are lots of missed calls, and bad calls, in games. Most of them are Detroit Lions fans and I can't think of any other team that has suffered so many bad and missed calls during the last 15 years or so. So, deep down they understand.
The truth is the Saints folded or simply got outplayed, however you want to characterize it.. Even with that wonderful advantage of stadium noise, they could not hold the Rams down. It's just a hard pill to swallow for many because the foul was so blatant. If it were a very close call, that would be different.
