this isn't a post about anyone but Goff. I'm not sure how Tom Brady has anything to do with my statement.
And while I don't have stats...I've been watching this fact closely for many games now. I don't see you on the game feed so you probably haven't see my comments. I make the comment multiple times during the game...every week. I have
specifically been watching this every game...every pass play. It started because I am not happy with our TE play.
They Rams do not...I repeat do not attack the middle of the field with any type of regularity. In fact, they attack everywhere but.
Now...let's define the middle of the field. If it's between the hashes...you may see 1 or 2 passes a game...at most. If it's inside the numbers, I will say they receptions are closer to the numbers than the hashes. And usually the reception is being made as the receiver moves towards the numbers...not into the hashes.
I have observed this since prior to the bye week. It's a fact. Unless it's a 5 yard pass, the Rams rarely attack the middle. They like to hang just inside the number to the sideline. And frankly, I think teams have seen this tendency.
I don't know how the stats are accumulated to define pass percentages by zone but trust me...anything in the middle is rare. If the middle is just inside the numbers...well, that is stretching it as the middle. Maybe I should call it the center of the field.
If they are running plays in the center, I must be looking away the moment it happens.
I remember one play this year that seemed like a "middle" play and it was Roberts Woods running a seam pattern...like in game 2 or 3.
