I hear you on the reasoning that the lack of quick strike options is probably related to his over-all scheme of keeping the wide-outs in tight. However, I think it's more about personnel than that.
Why? One word: Watkins.
Last year we ran several quick strike type options that you're talking about and specifically in the RZ. Of the top of my head, I'd guess that Wakins got at least 4 TDs from that exact thing.
But he's a big strong body. Who else do we really have to do that? We have some people with similar size but not close to similar strength.
