..and I have seen this type of interview with McVay a couple different times now. Each time the game sit is when a big or unusual or scoring play occurs. Which in and of itself IS impressive but, lets ask about a mundane run play for -2 yards that happened mid 4th Q of a blow. THEN I'll be really impressed. confused smiley

Agreed. Moreover, I bet his recall isn't *that* unusual among that small fraternity of coaches who are living/breathing this stuff. Grand Master-level chess players have encyclopedic memories for moves from games years earlier. Professional tennis players can recreate point sequences from 5-set matches.

If McVay is unusual in this regard compared to other coaches, I'd guess it has more to do with his youth and the advantage it confers in terms of memory capacity than anything else.

R.I.P. Nelson aka TonyHunter87 1971 - 2017 far too soon..

Your last words to me: "Your a great guy RFIP. I was very sad when you left the board, and your son, but was glad to see you back. Take care my friend, may God be by your side." 09/09/2017 12:58AM

No Nelson, you were a far better man than I, and I am sure an awesome husband and father as well. I will miss you my friend. -RFIP
