While in no way is Tebow the same player as Wilson, he too was panned by many NFL teammates and players. Why? Was it because his QB ability wasn't great? Lots of guys come in and just can't hack it as an NFL QB. No; it's because he was a Christian (and made it well known), a do-gooder, and didn't use the F word 3 times in every sentence. He was humble and cared very much about a persona of being of the highest moral fiber and never complaining.
It is sad that on some NFL teams (apparently including the Hawks) unless you're foul mouthed, thumping your chest for the TV after every good play, saying outrageous things to the media, and being known off field for being arrested or leading a protest, you are the odd ball and therefore not liked by many of your teammates.
It just makes me admire Wilson all the more. And if he can, he needs to get himself out of Seattle and go somewhere that the HC and organization values guys like him. If we didn't have Goff he'd be a good fit for the Demoff, Snead, McVay Rams.
