I think it's too soon to say how brilliant this is. Wade does have a knack for finding the right position for players so hopefully it turns out brilliantly but I agree that we need to see how it plays out.
That said, I don't think the only reason for this move is that we're down bodies at OLB. I think that is one factor.
The other big factor is exactly what Wade says it is: Easley has a significant injury history and at OLB there is less wear and tear on the body. I suspect they had to think of this when they resigned him. Why sign a guy who is continually injured unless you have a plan for how you will keep him healthy this time?
If you look at Easley's size of 6'2", 273 lbs, he is only a little bit bigger than a traditional 3-4 OLB.
