It's an interesting post and got me thinking. Here's my wishlist:
- Play the hot hand. There were times last year when I felt Gurley was unstoppable. And then McVay would go away from him - especially in the red zone. Same with Woods or Kupp. Play the hot hand IMHO.
- I like plays when the D knows it's coming and still cannot stop them. Like Martz running the ball in the 2nd half with a lead. Martz had some incredible stat of winning percentage with a lead in the 3rd/4th quarter. Would like McVay to get there too.
- Some of McVay's unpredictability is counter to the above, but I hope that he'll see the light and change over time.
Observation: last year we scored points because Legatron was automatic and we kept getting in his range. Would MUCH prefer a better redzone conversion rate.
