Rams must've really liked what they saw from Cooks on tape much more than what Watkins showed them on the field for one season.
Not only did they give up a 1st round pick. They also paid Cooks more than what Watkins got from the Chiefs.
On the flip side, had the Rams signed Watkins instead, we could've had a 2018 first round pick on the roster and more flexibility with the cap.
I'm just not sure the difference between Cooks and Watkins is that great to outweigh the cost. Oh well, I guess we'll see soon enough.
