I see no positive coming from looking past what is at hand right now. If this season is going to be what we envision, why not just let it come as it does. Maybe the secondary is blown up, maybe we trade AD, maybe...maybe...maybe.
My point is in the recent past we were just worried about the season starting and if we would win more than 3 games. Hey we are reigning NFC West champs....we garnered some big names....let's think like this.....Let's kick ass while/when we can and enjoy it....it can become so fleeting that before you know it the season is over and we have to wait another several months to get our RAM fix ....
So AD sits out, so we don't sign him long term, so we lose LJ next season, you can look down the road or look at what is right here right now....I so dreaded what we had in front of our faces for the past decade.....I say what ever happens let it be so, but let's put it all together now...this year.....I want to be hated again by the whiners, the hawks, the cards, the boys....etc....That will make it worth what may or may not happen in the seasons to come.....
This is not writ in stone but IF there is no new deal, things likely play out this way. He's going to report and play this year, new contract or no new contract. That gives them all season to get a deal done if they can. If he sits out, that would happen next off-season, but ONLY if he is still not signed yet and the Rams resort to tagging him in an effort to keep him. The tag amount for DTs is such a lowball compared to his market worth
(about 15 M compared to anything from 21 to 24 M) that AD could easily feel he was better off sitting out and demanding a trade. But there are a lot of "ifs" before they reach that point.
