Your not saying it now? Because u were but that's a relief. I was starting to see the word low-ball in my sleep lol.
I never said "The Rams ARE lowballing Donald."
I know better that that. We don't actually know the numbers. It would be impossible right now to either say that or deny it.
You did say that paying him the tag amount next year would be lowballing him, zn.
I say that that would be taking advantage of a part of the current CBA as a negotiating tactic while avoiding either a crippling contract demand or being forced to trade AD. My point is that there are 2 sides to this coin. Just depends on one’s pov.
As an aside, if AD demands a trade, what is to prevent the Rams from sitting on him indefinitely instead of feeling forced to trade him? AD would have as much to lose, if not more than the Rams. By sitting, doesn’t he postpone his UFA status by another year? Not to mention that his income would plunge to zero during his prime playing years? Honestly, unless other teams were making trade offers that I couldn’t refuse, this would probably be my knee jerk reaction to such an AD ploy.
I submit that the Rams still retain the leverage even if AD refuses to report.
I think (and certainly hope) that this scenario is moot. But still...
