I concur Max, Pankey was underrated. I remember when the Rams drafted Irv and I thought why a TE? However, I do recall I believe it was Paul Zimmerman back then saying that he would play tackle and Pankey played it very well. Pankey was on the Rams in 85 too so maybe he was thinking about Goff over Brock which was more obvious, however, Jake did ask him about 89 maybe that phantom sack still haunts Pankey.

Pankey played LT when it wasn’t as glorified a position as it is now. He was deserving of at least one ProBowl. But never got it. I would love to know his numbers if PFF did them now.
