All it takes is one and the others copy off each other.
1) He played in a very basic system with a handful of plays. He had no concept of an NFL offense.
2) He was a fundamental wreck
3) He played in position that wasn't a playmaking position which is what a top 5 should be reserved for with exceptions of NFL ready players. Somebody who touches the ball or rushes the passer.
Even if the pick had worked out, the Rams would be developing a player to succeed on his 2nd contract possibly with another team. He virtually had no chance of being any good until year 3, probably year 4 on the first contract and basically was holding the team hostage until he was a capable player.
It was a dreadful pick from the get go.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, indeed. Lol.
