Rams could have doubled down and gotten an entire draft for that #2 pick who turned out to be just a guy that piddled in the league for a few years.
Even the best case scenario on that pick, develop a guy for the end of a 1st contract where you may lose him, makes no sense.
and to boot, it was not a playmaking position which is what a top 5 pick should be. Somebody who touches the ball or rushes the passer.
Fisher was a good hire for the first 2 years to get the Rams respectable again. He is a 7-9 type of coach, but you can't win without any offense whatsoever which is what he tries to do.
So I say the Robinson pick. What could have been had the Rams traded that pick for a couple of 1st rounders, a 2nd rounder, etc. or in some cases 4 or 5 picks with some of them high picks.
I agree it was probably one of their biggest mistakes in drafting him, but if you remember, that as a horrible year for QB's and the Rams couldn't get a phone call for the number two pick that year....so to say we could have got all those picks is not really the case Had they got a phone call they would have done it....also, nobody killed the Rams at the time of the pick, it wasn't a horrible pick at that moment.
