I've been contemplating AD's impact on the D. There's the article the other day highlighting AD's impact. Also a quick glance at the numbers reveals that, when AD was missing the first few weeks of the season last year, the D gave up a lot of points the first 4 weeks of the season.
They were ranked somewhere around #28 in points allowed after week 4. Once AD came in and got acclimated, that number steadily moved down every week until they ended the season ranked #12.
First 4 games they allowed 25.25 points a game, which across the entire season would have been ranked 31st.
Next 12 games they allowed 18.67 points a game, which across the entire season would have been ranked 5th.
It wasn't all Donald, obviously, but a lot of it was Donald, as you say.

Actually, I forgot, you have to subtract the final 9ers game too.
If you do that, then in 11 games they allowed 17.27 points per game. And that would have ranked 2nd.
Better than the Vikes and Eagles and Jagz.
