If they eliminate the kick off return, which I don't want, I like an alternative kick off method.
NFL Radio guys suggest lining up in punt formation (both sides). That way, guys aren't running free and clear downfield. They have immediate obstacles which slow down the speed at which a player runs downfield.
And by the way, what happens to the on-side kick? Losing that would be a travesty to the game.
The worst solution would be to just line up at the 20-25 yard line and start play.
And...a phrase that would be lost..."I missed the opening kickoff!"
