Oh how I love creativity....ya, the Rams knew the right 'parameters' before any of these deals. Demoff has been one of the best at this in the league.
All these deals were done with the right view of short term and long term implications. Peters and Cooks are keepers while Suh is a rental and Talib for a 5th rounder might be a steal if he only has one good year (2018)...and they can cut him after this year if they want with no cap problems. Suh at $14 mill is ok; would have been great at $11....but, he takes the pressure off of needing a great edge rusher.
The Rams were going nowhere next year with the: a) corners they had and b) Robert Quinn.
I still think Watkins would have been the better deal. But, Cooks might be a better player for the Rams system anyway.
Next:I actually would prefer they do EVERYTHING possible to address the O line-- starting now. I can deal with a mediocre edge rusher when we have Suh, Donald and 2 good to great corners.
