On the other hand, remember the consensus "next Orlando Pace" .....Greg Robinson?
Actually, the LT I really like is Orlando Brown. I could care less about his Combine. First, he improved everything at his Pro day.
But the bottom line is that while he may not be a freaky athletic dancing bear like Whitworth, the guy just flat plays some good nasty LOT at Oklahoma. It's hard to explain guys some times. I'm a believer that if the guy plays his spot really well, forget everything else. I don't know why a Bumble Bee flies; it shouldn't. But it does....really well.
And BTW: I'm also a Shaq Griffin fan. I could care less that he has one less hand than he's supposed to. I watched that guy numerous times. He is a tough, strong, fast instinctive football player who just makes plays. He's faster than the best corners. Physical. Hits over his weight. A great leader. Best player on UCFs undefeated team. Hope he lasts to the 4th round and the Rams take him. Heart of a champion. Plays with a chip on his shoulder and his hair on fire. A cheaper, bigger, faster Mark Barron. Exactly what is needed in the midst of several Divas. He'll be a captain in short order.
You can find good LOTs in round 1 after pick 15 or 20. It happens regularly. That includes guys like Joe Staley, Duane Brown, Sam Baker, Nate Solder, Anthony Castonzo, Riley Reiff. Heck in 97, after Pace and Jones were picked, Tarik Glenn and Ross Verba went lower in the first round.
The question is if there's anyone like that in this draft.
If there is you have to figure they will be under consideration. It just makes too much sense.
But if there isn't, there isn't.
