And just for the record I absolutely understand and agree with the distinctions you make among the various DL positions. It just seems like overthecap (and a number of other pieces written for 'the masses') define the guy in the middle of a 3-4 as a DT (or NT) and the other 2 guys as DEs.
my readings of your posts show you get it. I was criticizing them. Ourlad's had Donald as a 3-4 DE for a while...I emailed them and got that changed. I posted something a while back, I think it was Patricia or maybe Vrabel...not sure, Gregg Williams said same thing last year when hired by the Browns that "people need to stop thinking in terms of 4-3 and 3-4". When old school people see a 3-4 defense listed they just assume that there are 2 DEs. But the are not looking at where guys line up play-in and play-out
