no one can predict what will happen with peters. the real question is whether it is wise to invest a 2nd and 4th in a very talented guy with character concerns? imo if you know what you are getting into and are willing to provide peters with the support and environment he will need, its worth the risk. much like school classrooms, a positive lockerroom culture can handle a guy or two like that. i think teams get into trouble when there are two many troublemakers. moreover, you have 2 to 3 years to evaluate the player up close to determine if he is guy you want to invest long term in. if not, somene will give him a big contract if he continues to play at the level he has and you can recoup a third. finally, i think it will be interesting to see who they partner him with on the other side. i wouldnt be surprised to see a high character guy playing opposite price next year.
