I would like to see the Rams trade Todd Gurley to a contender like NE for say a 4th this year and a 2nd next. Obviously if I were the front office I would call all 31 teams, but it seems like this is as good as it gets.
Hear me out. it will make sense:
He will be 24 in August.
he is costing the Rams a whooping 4.4m this season and if they pick up his 5th year option he will cost what? roughly 11-12 million?
He is also going to want to be one of the highest paid RBs in the league considering he is a top 5 RB in the NFL.
Who needs a top 5 player at any position really? McVay has shown in Washington he can score w/o a top RB.
I know what you are thinking. a 4th rounder this year and a 2nd next? WTH. I realize I screwed this up. The Rams include one of their 6ths as well. So we swap a 6th for a 4th and pick up a 2nd next year. That seems fair for a top 5 player at his position with 2 years under cheap control and is under the age of 25. There just won't be much of a market for a player like that. Maybe we can dupe the Patriots into taking him off our hands. Snead is pretty shrewd.
Thoughts?
