I am basically staying clear of this debate because people just seem to be saying the same things over and over
But the Rams were desperate? The Rams have work to do in their secondary. They have/had options. This was one of them. They went out and got a lock down corner for cheap. They are aware there is a risk but based on Wade's handling with Talib the Ram's current locker room...they think they can handle it. They may end up being wrong
Had they not made this move then maybe they go into the draft to fill the position (heck maybe they still do) and maybe one of the FA CBs become a priority in addition to signing their own guys (yes TJ or NRC). With this move they get the best cover CB available and at a very affordable cost. Granted they aren't done but they aren't desperate either ...at least not IMO.
I also now see people saying that KC called every team... and everyone turned them down. Ok so then what? You going to cut him? This is silly who cares if they called all these teams and the only one interested was the Rams? Even if I believed that and it was true .... so what. We know the players history and the why.
The guy has messed up... hes on chance number two now. How many chances did TO get? I just don't get the level of alarm about this move from some.

There's no desperation here. There's a huge difference between desperation and risk. Desperation would be to keep TruJ at whatever the cost. Actually, 2016 and 2017 were the desperation years when they franchised tagged a mid-level CB and paid him enormous dollars. Remember: TruJ made it clear on numerous occasions that he really wanted to stay with the Rams.
There were other CB FAs on the market and others that could be traded for, and it's a strong year for CBs. But the Rams didn't get a 2nd tier FA, or a rookie: they got an elite guy (a proven guy) for low salary cap number.
Yes, there's risk. But any business decision weighs risk against reward. The Rams feel the reward is greater than the risk. Clearly you and LA feel the opposite. Only time will tell.
