Hope McVay stays the course and pass pass pass

January 22, 2018 05:41PM
So many people want to go back to the last decade of run, run, pass, punt apparently. McVay finally comes in and throws that away and opens up the field by mixing it up, creating space, spreading the field, and creating all kinds of uncertainty on the defense and the biggest complaint is

Let's go back to the last decade of run, run, pass punt.

Have we not suffered enough? Do we really want to repeat the last decade of this power run mentality? We finally get back to modern football and put on a good offense and we have so many that want to go back to the last in the NFL offensive style.

I just do not get it at all!!!!!

To put it simply: Gurley's success running the ball is because McVay passes and passes often. This creates opportunities for a running game and keeps the defense on their heals. When you run, you run to be successful. NOT TO JUST PASS THE TIME AND FILL IN PLAYS.

Never give up a play that you know has a low probability of success.

I am saying the strong demand to force the run is a bad idea

For me the issue is to be able to run and pass effectively
