Ryan Fitzpatrick - 2.0.
Which for guys like Keenum and Fitzpatrick is just fine. Neither were supposed to ever even make it in the league and they have worked themselves into serviceable starters. There is no shame in that. But they are not the type of QB that can carry you consistently with the passing game.
..Case isn't older and ready to walk away because he had a fair tale season, one that he will not likely ever smell again. He had several breaks go his way and used a lot of things to engrain himself deeper in to the fabric of the team.
Now most likely he is gone...and the elements will not align as they did in 2017 for him.
In retrospect, I think that fairytale storyline is what cost the Vikings. I suppose it would have been impossible to bench Keenum after the miracle ending to last week but if Bradford was healthy, they should have been getting him some playing time somehow.
Actually, considering Keenum's role he probably would have been a lot better off coming off the bench if needed instead of shouldering the starting responsibility. Threw a beautiful TD to Rudolph on that first drive but after that, zilcho. Just looking at things clinically, Bradford has often been in the position of having no running game and having to carry the offense with the passing game. Hasn't always succeeded but he's familiar with the drill. As you have said, Keenum is only successful when he isn't in that position.
It would have taken balls of steel for Zimmer to have started Bradford but I think it was probably the best option.
