There's whispers (true or not I don't know), that one of the sticking points is that he wants language that he will remain as the highest paid defense player throughout the term of his contract.

I doubt the Rams would seriously consider such a proposal.....if true......because I'm not even sure how workable that is. As much as anything because it takes some of the cap control out of their hands. But what if another player on another team wants the same language? So I suspect what this entails is an automatic pay adjustment every 2 or 3 years according to current contracts for other D players. I can't imagine the Rams getting themselves in that position.
