Goff did miss passes, many of which could have gone to Watkins down the field. I feel Goff will improve his vision with more experience. This year was about making Goff a competent nfl passer (he ranked 8th in qb rating so mission accomplished). Next year will be about refining those skills and making him a more complete qb (seeing the field, reading defense, making multiple reads, taking calculated risks, developing better chemistry with the wrs, etc) and THAT is why you franchise watkins. you are paying him for 1 year to see if both qb and receiver can get on the same page as goff develops.
