If they let Sammy walk and he goes to Niners and lights it up in SF with JimmyG, the Rams will look very foolish giving up draft capital and Gaines to see that benefit their rival.
My biggest fear is that the Niners will just throw so much money at him that he just can't pass it up.
Rams have too many other stars to pay to match some huge offer some other team with tons of cap space will have.
Why would they way overpay him? Everyone has a market value and I can see going above it to a certain level as the Rams did with Woods. Woods got 5 years, $34M for $6.8M/yr.
According to Spotrac, Davante Adams Market Value is $12.9M and the Packers just gave him $14.5M.
Spotrac has Sammy's Market Value at $9.8M. That's $3M less than Adams Market Value. I would think $12M is close to the top of what Sammy would get from anyone.
And more then the Rams would be willing to pay him......think a three year $30 mil would be about the most the Rams would offer.
