What does that mean?
There *may* be some rumblings?
Well I guess I *may* have a herd of cows in my backyard, but I suspect I don't because I can't her any bovine rumblings and to the best of my knowledge there isn't a farm within 20 miles of me for them to have come from.
And do you really think McVay is the kind of person to countenance not using a big play guy to help them win games so that maybe, just maybe, if they keep him next year they can save some cap money?
That is so far beyond the pale to me that I don't even know how to respond
There was a lot of talk around the league and among fans when the Seahawks chose to throw the ball in the Super Bowl that a pending contract was one more reason they didn't run with Lynch besides pure stupidity .
I think it's clear that besides any cognitive problems Sammy had this year there was not a great effort to get him the ball.
I think we saw him used sparingly but also effectively in the drag route and in twin formation in the slant route at goaline .
They ran a screen to him and it worked well .
They clearly didn't make him a big enough part of the offence when they would have benefited from it .
So yeah there pretty much had to be a concious choice not to increase his role in the offence as the season progressed .
They really fell so short in honest efforts towards integrating Watkins with those ridiculous final numbers at less than 40 that the effort seems dishonest.
I question if they really wanted to do it.
Thinking about the upcoming contract gives me a reason to believe that McVay could have some culpability in keeping Watkins numbers fairly pedestrian just by his route designs .
Then Goff by reports of many has been coached to look to one side of the field for efficient passing .
What side is he often looking away from is another take right ?.
The season totals /results dont speak to a team doing it's best getting a known talent like Sammy the ball .
Or is the argument Sammy's overrated?
Let's not go there
Waste of time.
It helps contract talks (keeping $'s down ) from Demoffs side now that Sammy didn't break out and put up huge numbers.
Sammy's obviously going to be doubting now about how he fits with the team . There is a certain healthy ego pro atheletes need as a part of the inner beast.
I'm sure he's even going to reflect about his status falling in the league after a so so year in L.A. ,and whether one more move to a team like the Bears even if it's in further down the road in 2019 would be best for him .
Rams need to remove the doubt in 2018 by getting him the ball or we may see a wasted talent and a morose situation .
Four receptions a game 64 total over the season should have been close to what happened .That was doable with his talent.
So at end of the day they did a poor job. Very easy to get what happened to keep Sammy's numbers down twisted and warped into a real intent .
Truth or not .
What Sammy thinks and the noise that will bounce on this is pretty important to negotiation.
Thats the average players and fans mindset .
The Rams did nothing but feed NEGATIVE vibes that way.
Sorry UK.
