It was none of the things you seem to be assuming and it included analysts like Gonzalez (espn), Wagoner, Baldinger, and Cosell.
It all matched what we were seeing. He wasn't the same back in 2016. He lost weight, did not get to working out in the off-season early enough (and that's according to a direct quote from him), did not have the same speed and explosion and ability to shed tackles.
That was all Gurley.
As I keep saying, a lot of things went wrong in 2016. Gurley was one of them.
