Why? It didn't work that way for Kurt Warner. He won his SuperBowl ring as a Ram but his team identification seems to be more with the Arizona Cardinals. I don't think the team you were with when you get a ring determines team identity. Just the way I see it.
Kurt was mad at the Rams for the way he was treated on his way out the door.
Chris as well was not happy about just being turned loose as the team was moving to LA. Remember he and Laurinitis were just released in the off season after the move prior to the 2016 season. I'm sure both were stunned and hurt by that.

Not sure what point you missing here but let me clarify my point.
1. Chris Long enjoyed his greatest success in NE. A Super Bowl title and ring. Also he may be mad at the Rams for how he was released. But he had no success to think back on with the Rams.
