The problem for Simms is that if he was his father and said the same thing, everyone would listen and give it more weight.
But the younger Simms never did much in college or the Pros, isn't very insightful as an analyst, and so he sounds like he's unhappy for Goff's success and this is nothing but sour grapes.
But the REAL problem is when Simms added that when he played for Jon Gruden, he really didn't want to listen to what Gruden was telling him in his helmet speaker and just wishes he would have shut up. That tells you all you need to know about Simms; he wasn't coachable and likely couldn't handle all the info Gruden (known as one of the better offensive minds in football) was telling him.
I'm going to be surprised if young Mr. Simms is back next season; he made himself look petty, jealous, and dumb as pretty much every NFL coach and GM and player that was asked to comment thought it was kind of silly and was simply using the NFL rule as it was meant to be used.
