Seems like you quoted part of my post, thereby changing its emphasis, then said "I agree" (or was I not supposed to notice that?)
The NFL rulebook defines holding in terms of acts that "materially restrict" the opponent's movement. That's where degree and a bit of subjectivity comes into the picture.
In the end, as you noted, the Rams may have "gotten away" with a grab that could have been called holding on the Woods' TD, and were subjected to a questionable call that took away Ogletree's TD. So, if you feel the need to play the shoulda/coulda game, its a wash.
Given that it was a 23 point win, I really don't see this an important issue.
and you don't have to agree. No one suggests (I never did) that it had a big impact on the game. I specifically noted that there were bad calls that helped/hurt both teams. I think it's fact.
No one is playing the "shoulda/coulda game". I am not. It's pretty simple, the was a pretty blatant hold and it wasn't called.
All this others stuff I don't care about. It's not part of some greater thesis that Rams didn't earn the win or anything else. It's just pretty clear that it was a non-called holding and when you watch it in real time Clowney is impeded. I have enough honer tendencies, but I am not going to lie and say it wasn't holding when it was.
