the kid is still maturing, but I would like to see the notion of reading deep to short continue, if indeed, that is the idea; Can't know what the value of Sammy is if he isn't given the opportunity

but, at some point, doesn't the coach have a part in making sure that he gets his 2nd round draft pick value out of the trade?
and, for me, I don't even think you have to "scheme" Sammy open; continue to play the deeper route structure, and when the down, and field position suggest it? just layout the ball for him.
