I get it. I think everyone on this board gets it. We have been brainwashed by the past 13, 14 years (whatever its been).
I was sure we would mess up the Jax game and turn the ball over or just come out flat so my heart could be broken and I could think "well it was a good start to the season."
I was sure last week we would go to London and look lethargic and lay an egg and the Cards would just throw the ball all over the place and I'd have to think we just aren't that good yet.
And yes as a life-long Rams fan full of memories of teams that just didn't seem to show up once or twice a year the thought has entered my mind about the Giant game.
So, do I think it's possible that somewhere deep down inside the players relax just a little? Yes I do.
But do I think McVay will sense it if it is happening during practice? Yes I do, and I believe he will do whatever it takes to get the team focused.
Also, I keep hearing players like Gurley, and Goff talk about how they've not accomplished anything yet. I think this speaks to last year. How easy is it to remember we were 3 and 1 last year and went 4 and 12. And then you have players like Quinn and Saffold who have to be so tired of losing.
So in a nutshell I don't see it happening.
What I do see is a Giant team void of any playmakers at all on offense.
I see the Rams getting ahead early with methodical drives just like against the Cardinals and building an early lead.
I see the Giants defense fighting hard for 1 to 3 quarters and then the Rams pulling away for an easy victory.
In fact this game might be over mid 3rd quarter.
Why? Because I trust in McVay and I think he's earned the benefit of the doubt for now.
