Are you counting Gurley as a WR? If you are then five receiving options have gotten more targets than him as a WR.
If you are not, only four have....Either way, your statement about TA being our 7th best WR option, if we're judging by targets, is once again inaccurate.
I think everyone gets your position. It's coming through pretty clear.
It seems to be summed up in your question regarding why take a better O weapon off the field.
The reason I, and so many others - including McVay who's the only opinion that counts - reject your position is because that question is faulty. It's premised on a bad assumption.
It's premised on the concept that if he's not the best dedicated RB, and if he's not one of the better dedicated WRs, then he's not one of the better O weapons.
That premise is minimizing explosive, play making ability and the defensive attention that ability commands. It minimizes decoy value. It minimizes the value that comes from having a multi-purpose weapon.
Stated another way. Just because someone like Brown may be RB 2 and higher doesn't mean he's a better weapon.
With his size, Brown can do things Tavon can't; Tavon with his speed, elusiveness, and versatility can do things Brown can't just by being on the field.
All of the weapons have their use. And one isn't better than TA simply because they're better at their one role than TA is in that role.
