Waldman is great in evaluating tape. But he has admitted many times that he has no clue about whats going on inside the team. He has said many times that he totally ignores stuff like this.
He did say that Fisher and his staff deserved the criticism they got. And that is HUGE for Waldman to say.
But I'm not trying to convince you, I'm just defending my viewpoint that I feel very comfortable with as you appear to be with yours. Carry on.

VB is a gossip. Waldman is an analyst. I trust the analysts. The analysts who do real work on this state that Goff was very far behind coming out, and rightly so. Goff making it is the first time an Air Raid qb has ever done so.
But a gossip has value and VB also said the move had an effect on the team. That's something you can know by knowing the players and coaches and the effect that had.
One thing I notice is that as much as people want to bring up things local LA reporters say, they never really HEAR them when they say the move had a huge effect.
A lot went wrong in 2016. It doesn't reduce to one thing. In terms of the offense, along with Gurley not being himself and so contributing to everything, while they had a qb coach with a solid rep there's no question that Groh and Boras installing a new offensive system during a move was not going to pay off. That, and Boras had issues with adjusting to defensive adjustments to his 1st quarter offense. Still that is simply ADDED TO the fact that Goff was simply that green...as Waldman and others have shown in detail. I don't see the point in disputing that. It's fact. It's also a huge factor. That's why when the defense held up they could win games with the veteran Keenum (even without a running game) but were not going to with a rookie that green.
So now we are at the terminal agree to disagree point? That's my say anyway. So
I;m done. anyway. My vote is that a lot went wrong in 2016 and trying to pin it all on one or two things is just not a complete analysis of the real situation. Too much that's real gets left out doing it that way.
