When he got fired I was irritated by him insisting he didn't let anybody down.
When it came to effort and desire to do the right thing and being a decent guy, no he didn't.
But he absolutely let this team down with his stubborn outdated approach to coaching.
He said that he'd like to get back in coaching and face the Rams.
Really Jeff?
Well not as much as we'd like to see that happen because that would be a guaranteed 'W' for the Rams.
... was not successful, to say the least.
But I'll also be relieved when we fans collectively decide it's time to move on.
In the meantime, even as we rightly praise the wazoo out of the work that McVay et all have done so far, can we also acknowledge that, unlike the one that preceded him, the Fisher regime left McVay something to work with. To highlight some key contributors Fisher left behind:
Michael Brockers
Trumaine Johnson (JJenkins and EJ Gaines also Fisher regime picks, of course)
The Best Kicker of 2017 to Date
The Best Punter in the Game
Aaron Donald
Todd Gurley
Jared Goff
Tyler Higbee
Lamarcus Joyner
Maurice Alexander
Rob Havenstein
Jamon Brown
Coach Bones
Look at that list! And I'm not including a guy like TA, who obviously divides the board, or Ogletree, who might be miscast in this defense.
Yes, Fisher/Snead missed on a lot of guys, GRob not least. And he and his coaches didn't put the talent he did get in position to success. But those misses certainly haven't lacked for attention. How about acknowledging the fact is that Fisher acquisitions are playing a HUGE role in this turnaround? Fair's fair, y'all.
