This is an excellent observation. What incentive do the Rams have in signing a massive contract with AD fully or heavily front loaded if Goff is not the answer. If Goff is not the answer the Rams will need those $'s for Cousins, or to build around the rookie QB they draft next year. Having a stud DT making $20M+ with out clauses or heavily front loaded does the organization nothing if Goff is not the answer. It makes no sense to break the bank. If Goff shows up maybe Rams dig a little deeper, if he struggles I could see Rams pulling away from AD.

I think the Rams feel this year is about finding out and hoping that Goff is the answer.
If Goff stinks, then how significant is it that the Rams signed Donald for a monster contract? I say not at all.
If Goff shows up, then the Rams may think otherwise. But not until then.
