Not that it matters except for the PR value, but does it seem to anyone other than me that the sentiments about the Donald stymie has sort of shifted to the Rams favor? Both from fans and in the media?
If this board is a good picture of it, it sure seems like "The Rams are cheap and stupid" to not just mail AD the check book and have him fill in whatever he wants folks have rather diminished. The media seemed for some weeks to howl in unison that Donald ought to break the bank due to his greatness.
But now that some time has passed, and it has sunk in that the man has 2 years left on his current contract, the thoughts have shifted to more reality. As some of us have pointed out and the media are starting to pick up on, do you really want to sink that kind of dollar and cap committment into the DT position regardless of the greatness of the player? Especially if it impacts keeping other guys who man other positions that have perhaps a larger effect on your team?
The Rams, as usual, have been very careful to not say anything negative about Donald, his agents, or the negotiation. And, so has Donald's side. Hopefully this will allow Donald to save face and come back to camp either with a new deal that the Rams can swallow, or playing out his 2 years.
